Pursuant to authority granted by
Article XI of the City Charter, this Chapter is hereby established
and shall be known as the "Business Licensing Code" of the City, and
shall apply to all corporations, companies, associations, joint stock
associations, partnerships, copartnerships, and persons and/or their
lessees, duly constituted trustees or receivers, heirs, administrators
or assigns, who shall engage in any business, trade, vocation, profession;
specifically excepting those professions or callings exempted from
license requirements by virtue of Sections 71.620 and 71.630, RSMo.,
as amended, same being as follows: minister of gospel, duly accredited
Christian Science practitioner, teacher, professor in a college, priest,
lawyer, certified public accountant, dentist, chiropractor, optometrist,
chiropodist, or physician or surgeon, in the State of Missouri.
